The ever-present snack tray still had Nanaimo bars. We have concluded that Nanaimo Bars propagate when nobody’s looking.

After a little over seven hours, with nary a pause for Humpbacks, we anchored in Oliver Cove, surrounded by thick forest.

As you can see, here we are on our last night aboard the Great Bear II, enjoying the glow from a practically perfect trip, and not afraid to be seen doing so. Perfect weather, so we gathered for our evening appetizer on the foredeck, and Jen produced a magnificent baked brie en croute. Chef Jen outdid herself this day: here's Rockfish and farro with roasted carrots for dinner . . . . . . followed by her irresistible pièce de resistance, a superlative fruit tart. |
