Servas: letter of introduction

My name is Chad Abramson and I want to travel.
I am a sportscaster at a CBS affiliate in Chico, California. I report the local and national sports happenings to the public. I have worked for KHSL Television for the past 11 years (1½ years as an intern and the rest as a sports reporter). I enjoy my work and want to continue my career goal when I return from my traveling experience.
My goal for this particular excursion is to experience other cultures and to see other parts of the world. I have done plenty of traveling with my parents while in my youth. After my undergraduate and college education, I have concentrated on my career only. It is time to experience other parts of what the earth has to offer.
I am a people person. I deal with all walks of life daily in my profession. Along with my personal skills and my ability to adapt to various situations, I believe I would be a great candidate for the SERVAS program.
Not only am I a sportscaster, but I love all sports. I can't wait to experience the sporting ways of those overseas. I want to learn that culture and live it with them. I feel I can lend the knowledge I have gained from my experiences with those families overseas.
I hope this helps know a little about me, but in person I bet I can do better.
Looking forward to meeting all of you...
